What happens in this clip

Thoroughly sand all individual cut wood components. Use sandpaper (starting with a coarser grit like 80-120 and progressing to a finer grit like 180-220) to smooth all edges and surfaces. For the inside of the slots, an oscillating spindle sander is ideal, or you can use small sanding blocks or rolled sandpaper by hand.
