Once the bookcase is positioned correctly at the desired level, secure it to the floorboards by driving screws through the bottom horizontal piece. To prevent tipping and ensure stability, create a simple L-shaped bracket by screwing a metal bracket onto a small piece of scrap wood. Attach this bracket to the underside of the top shelf and then screw it securely into the wall at the back of the alcove. This ensures the bookcase is firmly anchored at both the top and bottom.
