With the skirting boards removed, carefully measure the exact dimensions required for your winder step and winder step extensions. Place the winder step and extension pieces onto the landing area and mark any areas that need to be cut to achieve a precise fit, especially around corners or existing newel posts. Step 1 of 10: Measure the Under-Stair Space

Using a tape measure, record the exact dimensions of the under-stair area. Measure at the front, back, and at various points in between to account for any sloping or irregularities in the wall or floor. Note any obstructions like electrical outlets or HVAC vents.
