For a grab rail like this, 36 inches from the ground is considered an ideal height. Mark this 36-inch point clearly on the painter's tape using a pen or pencil. Next, repeat this marking process at the lower end of the handrail's intended position, ensuring the mark corresponds to the step's bottom point where the handrail will terminate. This establishes the vertical position for both ends of the handrail.

Goal: Accurately mark the top and bottom heights for the handrail on the wall.
