What happens in this clip

With your chosen fixtures in hand or selected, meticulously plan their precise arrangement on your chosen wall. The video provides excellent examples of how different fixtures can be arranged in symmetrical grids, staggered patterns, or unique artistic layouts to create captivating visual effects. Use measuring tape, a pencil, and a level to accurately mark the desired locations for each light, paying careful attention to consistent spacing and alignment to ensure the intended visual impact. Simultaneously, sketch out a wiring diagram. This diagram should account for existing electrical power sources, plan the shortest and least obtrusive path for new electrical wiring runs (typically hidden within the wall), and determine the necessary switches or dimmers for controlling the lights, aiming for a clean, professional-looking installation with no visible wires.

Goal: Determine the optimal placement for fixtures and design the electrical pathway.

About the full video

This project involves selecting a variety of LED wall lights, planning their aesthetic arrangement on a wall, and installing them to create a modern and visually striking lighting display. The inspiration comes from the diverse patterns and styles showcased in the video, demonstrating how different fixtures can enhance interior or exterior spaces.

Step 3 of 9: Assess Electrical Needs

Decide on the type and placement of lighting (e.g., overhead, wall sconces, reading lamp). Assess if existing electrical outlets are sufficient or if new ones need to be installed. Plan for how to power any desired fixtures or devices. Consult an electrician if you are unsure about any electrical modifications.
