Install Drawer Boxes into Cabinet

From Under Stair Storage · Step 6 of 7 · Video by Shara Woodshop Diaries

Showing 9:51–10:15 of the source video.

What happens in this clip

With the drawer boxes assembled, install them into the cabinet. First, detach the inner parts of the drawer slides that mount to the drawer box. Align the bottom and front edges of the drawer box with the removed slide parts, then screw them securely into place on both the left and right sides of each drawer box. This method simplifies the installation process. Once the slides are attached to the boxes, they will easily slide into the pre-mounted cabinet slides, achieving proper spacing and functionality.

Goal: Integrate the completed drawer boxes into the cabinet structure.

About the full video

This project guides you through building a versatile pantry larder cabinet, suitable as a freestanding unit or a built-in fixture. It features a sturdy plywood construction, internal shelving, multiple drawers, and convenient door-mounted spice racks, all finished with paint and protective sealant for durability and a clean look.

Step 6 of 7: Install Storage Units

Carefully slide the assembled drawers or pull-out carts into their designated positions. If they are built-in, you may need to secure them to the floor or wall framing using screws. For drawer slides that attach to the frame, ensure they are aligned correctly before screwing them in place. Test the movement of each unit to ensure it operates smoothly.
