What happens in this clip

Apply a bead of wood glue along the edges where the drawer box components will join. Carefully fit the drawer side, front, and back panels together, ensuring the drawer bottom panel slides into the dado grooves. Use a brad nailer to secure the corners of the drawer box, creating a strong and durable assembly. Wipe away any excess glue with a damp cloth.

About the full video

This project transforms standard kitchen base cabinets into more functional storage by adding custom-built roll-out drawers. The process involves modifying the cabinet by removing its center stile, precision cutting and assembling plywood and lumber components for the drawers, applying a protective finish, and finally installing heavy-duty drawer slides to create easily accessible storage for pots, pans, and other kitchen items.

Step 5 of 7: Assemble Storage Units

Assemble the drawer boxes by joining the sides, front, and back pieces using screws, nails, and wood glue. Ensure the boxes are square. If building pull-out carts, assemble the frame and attach the casters. For drawers, attach the drawer slides to the sides of the drawers and to the corresponding location within the under-stair cavity or frame structure.
