The process involves scoring the paint line, using a hammer and chisel to create an initial gap, and then employing a jimmy bar to pry the board away from the wall, with a crucial tip on leveraging against wall studs to prevent damage.
Step 2 of 10: Remove Old Trim
Once the main skirt boards are removed, inspect their bottom edges for any smaller trim pieces, such as base shoe or quarter-round. Use the putty knife and pry bar in a similar fashion to remove these smaller moldings, taking care not to damage the flooring or the wall.
