About the full video

This project details how to transform plain stair risers into a decorative feature using stenciling techniques. It involves preparing the base, creating or selecting a stencil, carefully applying multiple coats of different colored paints, and finishing with a meticulous cleanup to achieve crisp, patterned stair risers.

Step 2 of 6: Measure and Cut Wallpaper/Stencil Material

Measure the height and width of each stair riser. Add approximately 1-2 inches to each measurement for trimming. Transfer these dimensions to the back of the peel-and-stick wallpaper or to your stencil material, and cut precisely using a sharp utility knife or scissors.
