Using a tape measure, carefully measure the length and height of each stair riser. These measurements are crucial for creating or scaling your stencil to fit perfectly.
Goal: Measure the dimensions of the stair risers
This project details how to transform plain stair risers into a decorative feature using stenciling techniques. It involves preparing the base, creating or selecting a stencil, carefully applying multiple coats of different colored paints, and finishing with a meticulous cleanup to achieve crisp, patterned stair risers.
Measure the height and width of each stair riser. Add approximately 1-2 inches to each measurement for trimming. Transfer these dimensions to the back of the peel-and-stick wallpaper or to your stencil material, and cut precisely using a sharp utility knife or scissors.
This project involves applying peel-and-stick wallpaper or stencil designs to the risers of a staircase to enhance its aesthetic appeal.
