Step 4 · Install New Baluster

Apply wood glue to the tenons or ends of the new baluster that will connect to the handrail and tread. Position the baluster in place. If it uses dowels, insert them into the corresponding holes. If it screws in, pre-drill pilot holes and drive screws. For mortised connections, ensure a snug fit and secure with glue. Ensure the baluster is plumb and securely fastened.
