Step 5 · Finish and Reinforce

Wipe away any excess wood glue immediately with a damp cloth. If the baluster was painted or stained, touch up the finish to match the surrounding balusters. After the glue has fully cured (typically 24 hours), gently test the stability of the new baluster by applying pressure. If any wobble is detected, reinforce the attachment with additional screws or adhesive.
