Step 3 · Tighten Base Screws (if applicable)
If the newel post is loose at its base and attached with screws, locate these screws. Use an appropriate screwdriver or drill to tighten them until the post feels secure. Be careful not to overtighten, which could strip the screw holes or damage the wood.
