Step 7 · Secure Loose Banister Balusters

Inspect each baluster (the vertical spindles supporting the handrail). If any are loose where they meet the tread or the handrail, apply wood glue into the gap and re-seat them firmly. For more secure connections, small brad nails or specialized baluster screws can be used from the underside.
