What happens in this clip

Secure these pieces directly into the wall studs and the newel post using a drill/driver and appropriate screws. Ensure these mounts are not glued, allowing for easy removal if needed. Attach the gate onto the installed hinges, making sure it swings freely. Then, using the gate itself as a guide, mark the precise location for the latch mechanism on the newel post. Pre-drill and secure the latch components to the newel post with screws, ensuring a secure closure. Finally, check the gate's movement and latch functionality.
