Step 9 · Sand and Prep for Painting

Once the wood filler is dry, lightly sand all the filled nail holes and any rough spots on the new skirt boards and trim with fine-grit sandpaper. The goal is to create a smooth surface for painting. After sanding, wipe down all surfaces with a tack cloth or a slightly damp cloth to remove all dust.
