Once the first tread is accurately positioned, secure it in place. If the treads are self-adhesive, carefully peel off the backing and firmly press the tread onto the stair, ensuring good contact across its entire surface. If not self-adhesive, apply double-sided carpet tape to the back of the tread before pressing it down. Ensure the tread is smooth and free of wrinkles.
Goal: Firmly attach the first stair tread to the stair
This project demonstrates the quick and easy installation of pre-made, self-adhesive stair treads to add style, safety, and comfort to wooden stairs. The process involves preparing the stairs, accurately positioning each tread, and securing them in place, transforming a bare staircase into a finished look.
Carefully position your Oak Valley Designs carpet stair tread onto the pre-cleaned step or landing area. Take a moment to ensure it’s perfectly aligned with your intended placement. Once satisfied, apply firm, even pressure across the entire surface of the tread. This ensures the pressure-sensitive adhesive makes full, secure contact with your stair surface, creating a stable and safe foundation for every step. Remember, good contact means lasting security!
