Wearing safety glasses, carefully cut along the traced lines on the ceiling using a utility knife. Score the drywall several times with the knife to make a clean and precise cut. Once the cuts are made, remove the excess drywall to create the enlarged opening. Be mindful of any wiring or ductwork above the ceiling while cutting.
