measure stairs for carpet stair treads
About This Guide
Ready to transform your staircase? Our easy DIY stair remodel makes it simple to add safety and style to your home. With our signature 'Clean, peel, and stick' installation, you can achieve a professional-looking result in minutes. No nails, no glue, no stress—just a beautiful, safer staircase for your family.
Steps
Peel Away the Protective Liner
Work from one corner, carefully lifting the protective film away from the tread. You'll expose the pressure-sensitive adhesive that makes our installation so unique. This isn't messy glue; it's a clean, powerful bond designed to hold tight while protecting your beautiful wood stairs underneath. Make sure the entire liner is removed before moving to the next step.
Position and Press Firmly
Take a moment to center the tread on the stair, leaving a consistent border of wood on each side for a polished, professional look. Once you're satisfied with the alignment, walk across the tread or press down with your hands, applying firm, even pressure from the center outwards. This activates the adhesive, ensuring a secure, non-slip fit that provides peace of mind for your family. And the best part? If you ever need to adjust or replace a tread, it removes cleanly without damaging your stairs. That's the Oak Valley Difference: safety and style without compromise.
