Step 2 · Apply Tape for Maximum Hold
To ensure your tread lies flat and stays put, proper tape application is crucial. Cut strips of a high-quality double-sided carpet tape to fit the back of the tread. We recommend creating a 'picture frame' of tape around the entire perimeter and adding one or two strips down the middle. These are the areas that handle the most foot traffic. Complete coverage is your best defense against shifting or lifting, giving you confidence with every step.
Run tape along the edges and center of the tread — the high-stress spots — and don't leave gaps, which cause lifting.
General Hazard
Don't skimp on tape; gaps cause lifting.
